When an image’s photographer is unknown, the subject matter determines its significance as a collectible work of art. Interesting vernacular images without any historical significance, like this one, are often described as “found photography”.  

 The composition shows two men wearing hats perched behind a painted panel depicting a flying rocket. The second view shows the verso, or reverse, of the print; it gives evidence that this print was made to be used as a postcard – likely a keepsake meant for one of the men in the photograph, or to send to friends or family.
